DITEK Introduces Unique New Voltage Monitoring Solution for HVAC Systems
DITEK Corporation ♦ Largo, FL
We are thrilled to announce the addition of the DTK-KG2 to our Kool Guard line of voltage monitoring devices. The new DTK-KG2 is specifically designed to protect HVAC equipment from harmful under-voltage and over-voltage events that can damage sensitive electronics and mechanical components within the system.
The DTK-KG2 is designed to be wired in series with a 120/240VAC or 120/208VAC split-base circuit up to 40 amps. A NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure enables the unit to function at high efficiency in harsh outdoor environments. The DTK-KG2 is designed to accept either half-inch or three-quarter-inch conduit and is intended to be placed directly between the safety disconnect or circuit-breaker and the equipment it is protecting. Also incorporating DITEK’s state-of-the-art surge protection design, the DTK-KG2 shields equipment from damaging transient voltage surges and spikes.
“A unique feature of this new product is that it does not require any calibration during installation,” said Mike Molinari, Director of Marketing for DITEK. “Whether it is being installed on a residence with a 120/240VAC service or a commercial building using a 120/208VAC service, it will automatically detect the input voltage and configuration.” The device monitors both phases individually with a line-to-ground voltage limit of 104VAC on the undervoltage and an overvoltage limit of 130VAC.
The DTK-KG2 is beneficial for applications that feature an inverter-driven AC system where too high of an input voltage could cause equipment damage. The DTK-KG2 keeps the power from reaching any devices unless it is within the specified range, and will cover power anomalies at a residence or business while also handling power surge events.
The key product features and applications for the DTK-KG2 include:
- Protection for under-voltage and over-voltage events
- Safely disconnects power to the system for 3 minutes allowing input voltage to return to normal range
- Diagnostic red and green LEDs indicate exactly what voltage condition is present
- Surge protection components included to divert harmful transient voltages away from the equipment
- Ductless AC Systems (mini splits)
- Inverter-type Compressor Systems
- Split Systems
- UL 60947-1 Listed
- UL 60947-5-1 Listed
- 10 Year Limited Warranty
